The Prince of Makoko!

I visited Makoko many years ago and since that time this underserved reverine community, in the middle of Lagos has never left my heart. It’s challenges seem insurmountable until you meet Emmanuel Agunze, a remarkable young man working hard to change all that. Emmanuel runs an organization called The Makoko Dream.  Reconstructing an old building so that children can learn in a safe environment, instituting a lunch program so children can learn easier with a full belly, and providing uniforms for students who couldn’t otherwise go to school. There is a reason people call him The Prince of Makoko. His vision is limitless.

An integral part of the DSF’s mission is to partner with other on-ground likeminded organizations. It is our belief that support and collaboration on common causes can only create more impactful results. We are excited about where our new partnership with Emmanuel and his “Kings et Queens from theVenice of Africa” will go.
